My jewelry is made from tiny prints of my paintings. I create the print to fit into the metal base and adhere it. Then I cover it with a thick layer of crystal clear resin. Beads and findings are added.

I create unique one of kind open-spine hand made journals using fine quality beautiful hand made papers & vintage fabrics. I use linen hinge tape inside the spine for added strength, acid free binder's board (cut to size & sanded) for the covers & spine pieces and good quality writing paper for the book block. I hand sew each book with sinew or ribbon. I also incorporate found objects, antique keys, original geometric designs in paper, antique post cards or other objects as a part of the book cover by gluing or sewing them into place. Each hand made book that I construct is a wonderful expression of color, design, paper and reclaimed items that are put together to form a tangible, touchable work of art that can be completed by the writer or artist who chooses the journal for their very own. I never create the same book twice, so they are as unique & individual as their owners.

I have a love of wild things & wild places & a desire to exhibit the beauty that exists there. With a background in biology, that involves fieldwork in remote regions such as the Amazon rainforest & Antarctica, I bring my love of science & conservation to my work & process. Using foraged natural specimens (plants, seeds, botanicals, marine algae), as my primary design material & glass/sterling silver as the other components, my focus is on illuminating the captivating beauty of the natural world, inspiring people to look closer at it. I hope my jewelry can serve as a unique representation of the beauty inherent in wild places & an homage to the tiny plants & wonders that inhabit them.

My subject matter is nature, whether it is a traditional landscape or a bird and flower painting. I use acrylic paints, ink and brush on gallery stretched canvas, to capture movement and life in abstraction and let the viewer fill in the blanks to bring the painting to life. I love using bold, vibrant colors and forms. My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual places and things.

The thing that drives me create is the strong desire to make others smile, laugh and be happy. Nothing is more important to me than the happiness of others and it is those things I want to elicit from people that view my unique and whimsical work. My subject matter is animals and nature and I work in clay, from earthenware to hi-fire clays, because it is so willing to move w/ the command of my hands. The movement to pushing and pulling is immediate and gratifying.
COLOR is my love so I use bright glazes as well as cold finishes, always in pursuit of bright color to celebrate the piece’s energy and happiness. I often finish pieces with glass, feathers, beads, metal, and/or horsehair to have the maximum control over expressive gestures and stylized subjects all designed to be light, bright and fun to make people smile.

I make pieces of pottery from earthenware clay and then fire the pieces to temperature. During the second firing, I take the pieces out of the kiln with long tongs and quickly lay strands of horse hair or feathers on the piece so the heat from the pottery burns the carbon into the clay body. I use several different techniques in layers to color the piece and give it texture.

I use heavy gauge 14kt gold filled and solid sterling silver metals in my wirewrapped bracelets, earrings, rings, pendants and cuffs. Each piece is made one at a time. They are given a hand application of patina, is buffed, burnished then given a final polish. Thee look is classic and timeless and is meant to be worn every day. My jewelry goes well with casual as well as more formal attire.

I use high end photographic cameras and lenses. My work is centered around capturing interesting light and subject matter that is striking and engaging to those who view each image. Each tells a story and I include one for each piece I exhibit. Most all images in my exhibit are printed on ChromaLuxe and include rear mounted aluminum shadow frames. They are available during the show in several sizes. I also offer my images printed on TrueLife acrylic, archival canvas or archival matted paper prints. Images come numbered in a series collection of 250 images. I have a large number of very popular images including many from Minnesota as well as other locations around the U.S. and the world. I sell images in common as well as custom sizes. I ensure I have formats and sizes with prices to meet the needs of those attending and purchasing art during events I exhibit. Art is created to be shared and enjoyed. My goal is to offer a wide variety and make it available to all who wish to purchase.

Being a full-time studio potter is my second career. After raising four sons I took my first clay class and at age 50. I quickly determined that I wanted to work with clay for the rest of my life. I love making beautiful and functional pieces for peoples’ homes.
I paint slabs of clay with colorful under-glazes. Over the slab I attach a thin, stencil cut sheet of clay. I draw and texture on these slabs. The form is then built. After bisque firing I apply black stain and wipe it off leaving the incised lines and texture black. A clear glaze finishes the piece.
I use various slab building techniques to construct my pieces. Over colorful slabs I applique a pierced layer of semi-porcelain clay. I do line work and incising and then bisque fire. After the bisque I cover the piece with black stain and wipe it off. A food safe clear glaze goes on and I fire the work to cone 6 in oxidation.

I create art pieces from a centuries old Japanese woodworking craft called Kumiko. I create a wood lattice work which is filled with very small pieces of wood that are hand cut and shaped, to create intricate patterns. Most of the woods that I use in my pieces are from trees that I've salvaged from here in Minnesota. I use various woods to create colors and textures in my pieces - no dyes or stains are used.

I create one of a kind quilted patchwork home goods - decor, kitchen and dining linens. My work is often improvisational, losing myself in the process of creating patchwork and later figuring out what to do with it. I dye many of my fabrics and I pride myself in using every bit, which you can see in some of my smaller patchwork. I believe the practical stuff you need to use everyday should bring you joy, so I make the prettiest oven mitts, bowl cozies, pot holders, coasters, table runners, etc. I also create wall hangings and lap through to king size quilts. I love color, contrast, and cats and feel like that comes through in my work.

My work is nature inspired. It begins as pencil and ink drawings and then is made into printing plates. My landscapes are carved in linoleum. The ink is applied/painted onto the block and then printed. I print on two antique printing presses. One color and one layer at a time.
