Featured Artist: Jaana Mattson
Mixed Media 3D
About the work:
Impressionistic landscapes of wool and wood reflect the natural world in both subject and
materials. With needle felting the artist builds up wool in delicate wisps and layers of color,
anchored by a barbed needle and blended by the viewer’s eye. The completed felt textile is
recessed into local wood and hand finished by the artist.
