Ceramics - www.bridgetdonahue.comI have loved clay since I was a teenager. Lately, have become uninspired by my brown functional pottery.
My husband told me “go make things that made you happy”. The muse spoke to me.
I now work with bright colored slips and glazes, on red earthenware, creating mostly non-functional work.
My work is wheel thrown and hand-built. I am fascinated by textures; cooking, hardware and home
improvement stores are great places to find texture tools to create new designs. I apply glazes and slips
highlighting those textures, also carving areas to exposing the red clay to add punch and detail.
