2017 booth # 59

I paint people and landscapes that capture a moment and record a story in time. I paint oil & litho ink on canvas in my barn studio and also "en plein air". I am interested in how light and shadows play off of objects, social realism, everyday life. A lot of my work focuses on privilege and its effect on social conditions. I often paint impassto with loose brushstrokes and chunks of color. I try not to overpaint.

2023 Booth #11

I begin every painting in a naturalistic manner, painstakingly depicting as much detail as the hand and eye permit. After considerable care and control is given to grasp a clear image, I then introduce the element of chance into the work by mechanically and unsentimentally passing over the painting with a massive brush, what could be likened to the technique of sfumato. The consequence is that of revealing the fragility of things while erasing everything but what is important.

2023 Booth #85

I use magnetic vinyl, acrylic and foil to create a one of a kind piece of magnetic art. Mostly 2D,, found objects, ephemera, paper, wood, metal, resin, glass and fiber are my mediums. My “MicroDoodles” are very small drawings I create using a .13 tech pen. My extreme myopic vision allows me to draw without a magnifying lens. I get into a meditative state, relax and begin to let my pen flow. I draw on many different substrates and have been adding resin and mixed media to my drawings.

Nature is full of vast, yet intimate spiritual spaces. To translate this power through realism, I use new techniques in needle-felting, guided by emotion in color and created one wisp at a time until the image becomes fabric. Completed wool landscapes are then set in sculptural wood framing. Reclaimed barn siding, found objects and live-edge slabs serve to both protect and amplify the textile imagery, creating an organic dialogue of materials.

2023 Booth #131

My mixed media sculptures generally take the form of dancers and are created from found and recycled objects. The assemblages consist of fiber/fabric (usually as the body) and some salvaged item(s) such as old bed springs, rusty cans, zippers, bark and/or gnarled wood. Each design is determined by the shape and appearance of the recovered item.

2017 booth #.

I create handmade leather bound journals using book blocks which I make from a variety of papers including professional grade watercolor paper and a 70lb archival paper that is perfect for both writing and sketching. I then cover each book block in one of my many re-purposed leathers and bind the pages to the cover using the German longstitch method. The covers feature a variety of designs that I create using image transfers of my own photos, block printing, ceramic buttons, skeleton keys and drift wood. I also create mini journal jewelry using the paper and leather scraps leftover from my larger projects as a way to make sure nothing goes to waste.

Copper and stainless steel wire comprise my warp. These I combine with leather, silk, copper and silver component to comprise my weft. My woven structures are mounted on a leather framework & embellished with stone and copper beads. My material choices translate whether creating jewelry or woven structures.
