2019 Booth # 113
My current work is gouache and collage on paper and panels coated with an absorbent ground. The collage elements are found text from broken or discarded books that relate to the subject matter of the painted images. This fall I self published Minnealphabet: An Outdoorsy Homage to Minneapolis. The book is a collection of over 26 gouache paintings celebrating the city’s unique connection to natural spaces. Each letter of the alphabet is a different activity or location in Minneapolis, first painted in gouache and then hand lettered, with the first letter in collage. The collage materials in each painting are salvaged from various travel guides and books about Minneapolis.
